Job description

M.P Shah Hospital is looking to recruit a professional, and evidence driven person for a vacancy in the Finance Department as an Accountant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate Accounting function.

Responsibility

1. Organizing cheques for signatories signing.
2. Ensuring all the cheques for suppliers and doctors are collected on time by informing them once the cheques are ready.
3. Preparing RTGS/TT payments.
4. Updating unpresented cheque listing daily.
5. Updating cheque register daily and ensuring its completeness.
6. Ensure debtors remittances allocations are done same day.
7. Recording and providing all invoices for approval.
8. Following up on all outstanding invoices from departments.
9. Filing payment vouchers sequentially and ensure archives are accessed with permission and only with authorized individuals.
10. Updating database of suppliers contacts on a monthly basis.
11. Ensure no documents are missing in a file by performing sequential checks on all files closed for the month.
12. Preparing all departmental official letters.
13. Preparing doctors summary statistics for board presentation.
14. Participate in preparing the weekly finance dashboard.
15. Undertake any other duties assigned by the Finance Manager incidental to the work described herein.

Qualifications

1. Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any other related field.
2. Professional qualifications from either CPA -Part II or ACCA Part II be an added advantage.
3. Minimum of one - two years’ experience working in a similar position.
4. Conversant with ERP systems.
